Serien följer nattskiftspersonalen på sjukhuset San Antonio Medical Center. Några av kirurgerna är knutna till amerikanska armén och bär med sig sina erfarenheter från livet i konfliktområden, vilket ibland kan leda till konflikter med resten av personalen. Även de andra läkarna har sina egna personliga slag att utkämpa och kärlek som uppstår på sina håll riskerar också de att komplicera relationerna.
Serien hade premiär 2014 och varje avsnitt är ungefär 42 minuter. Totalt har 45 avsnitt sänts uppdelat på 4 säsonger och serien är skapad av Gabe Sachs. Tyvärr har serien lagts ner och det kommer inga nya avsnitt
